Yet another reason for the recall, job creation, sputters out

The collective bargaining thing isn’t working. The Marquette Law School poll says only 12% of Wisconsin voters think the labor union issue is important. Make that “likely Democratic primary voters.” The “War on Women” is a joke. How about job creation as an issue? That may be a non-starter as well. Now hear this: Wisconsin is gaining jobs.

Republican state convention celebrates the rare gift of courage

A friendly bit of advice for Pink Dress Guy, Segway Jeremy, Anarchy Man, and the Socialist Provocateur: Try to get out of Madison and visit the rest of Wisconsin sometime. You know, the places where they make and grow things. Lesson: Your grievances are petty and laughable.

News flash: Tom Barrett ends “Wisconsin’s civil war,” calls off the recall

If he’s serious about ending what he describes as Wisconsin’s “civil war.” But first, a quiz: When is the last time a Democrat(ic) candidate avoided appearing in Madison? Answer: Yesterday.

Sing it, recallers! The thrill is gone

Sing it with Mr. B.B. King! Tuesday’s recall election was a giant repudiation of Big Labor. It was a huge smackdown of the union bosses by a Wisconsin that is 86.5% non-union and tired of all the whining. Gov. Scott Walker was the real winner last night. The air is out of the recall balloon. The government employee unions’ anointed one, Kathleen Falk, was routed big-time. Their cause? In tatters. Their followers, dazed and dispirited.

Who is the most powerful civic leader in Wisconsin’s second-largest city? A business journalist acquaintance answered Jerome Frautschi, the millionaire philanthropist and printing house panjandrum. As the imperious moderator on TV’s The McLaughlin Group would proclaim: WRONG!
